Going off on a slight tangent, this dreadful event has also brought out the worst in some people on fb and Twitter. I am thinking of the “I’m not racist, but..” brigade, and also the extreme right wing views that I heard from folk I previously thought were quite mild. It’s also brought out the best in others, so not all bad. My favourite was being called ‘stupid’ by an EDL member, for suggesting random acts of revenge might not be a good idea.
