Send in the Drones?

Does banking fraud on such a massive scale it can crash whole economies do far more harm to our prosperity and well-being than any act of terrorism?

How much money do you have to steal before it’s closer to an act of war than a common crime?

Is a corrupt banking system now a greater threat to our way of life than Al-Queda?

Does this mean we should start blowing them to bits with flying killer robots?

It shouldn’t need to be explained, of course, but I’m not actually advocating high-tech extra-judicial execution of anybody.

But I am advocating we treat the broken and corrupt banking systems with the same seriousness as we treat the fight against terrorism. Which will involve all sorts of regulations that extremely wealthy people won’t like, and throwing the book at wrongdoers. And discrediting the ideologies behind them.

If you are still going to be at Stabcon this weekend then maybe you’ll get a chance to use drones when you play Trumpton RPG. I hope you’ll be there because the train is an essential part of the plot!

Should be. Sent in my application very late, and haven’t (yet) received a confirmation of the hotel booking. Assuming it’s OK, I’ll be there. Anyone up for a game of Umlaut: The Game of METAL?

  4. John says:

Sure, I’ll bring my air guitar! Twang! Let me know if you aren’t going and I’ll hold the plot over for another time.

Since you haven’t blogged about Stabcon, I’ll put this here. :)

Thanks for bringing Umlaut. It was brilliant fun, I really enjoyed that.

Sorry Trumpton didn’t work out very well. I was planning on having a western train chase/fight on the way to Chigley and maybe an OK corral moment when it stopped for water. But people seemed to have had enough at that point. Oh well, live and learn. Thanks for playing anyway.
