I can't actually think of anybody important missing from the list, although there are one or two entries which are a bit suspect. I can just about understand why the Beach Boys and The Beatles were included for those specific albums, but Fairport Convention? Really? One might just as well include The Stranglers, who I've always felt were a prog band wrapped up in punk packaging. It's difficult to argue the case for more female representation in the list. The current crop such as Karnataka and Magenta, good as they are, probably don't warrant a place in a 50 albums list such as this. Although there is a synergy between prog and symphonic metal I'm not sure I would include Nightwish. I've always considered Therion to be far more prog than Nightwish ever were.
