Former Touchstone lead singer Kim “Elkie” Seviour” returns to the live stage after a long absence, sharing a bill with her old band at Trinity Live on 27th May at The Assembly in Leamington Spa.

After a while of radio silence, I’m ecstatic to announce that I’ll be showcasing all-new material at Trinity festival in Leamington on May 27th. As with the previous Trinity, we’ll be raising money for Cancer Research and Macmillan Cancer Relief, and I’ll be sharing a lineup with the Touchstone clan. I can’t wait to see you there!

It’s been a while, but we’re glad to have Kim back.

Two of progressive rock’s much-loved singers, Heather Findlay and Kim Seviour, share a birthday today. Here’s the two of them sharing a stage at The Assembly in Leamington Spa last November.

If that sounds a long way removed from Touchstone’s progressive rock, it’s actually a logical progression from the more pop-orientated elements of of Kim’s last album with the band. “Oceans of Time” cast around in a lot of different directions, and “Fantasise to Realise” represents something of one of those directions. It is certainly an intriguing taster for Kim’s forthcoming album.

Former Touchstone singer Kim Seviour is releasing a single “Fantasise to Realise” om Marth 7th, with the album to follow in the summer.

It’s co-written and produced by the incredibly prolific John Mitchell, who I’m sure is in about seventeen dfferent bands because nobody else can keep up with him.

As reported by Prog magazine, former Touchstone singer Kim “Elkie” Seviour reveals album plans.

She plans to release a solo album to be produced by and co-written with John Mitchell of Lonely Robot, Frost*, Arena and It Bites fame, a man who’s in so many bands because he’s so prolific that nobody else can keep up.

There is to be a single “Fantasise To Realise” released next month, a standalone track that will not feature on the album.

John Mitchell held a launch party Lonely Robot’s Please Come Home on Monday 23rd Feb at The Lexington in London. It was a star-studded event, with attendees including Steven Wilson, as well as the many musicians who’s guested on the album, such as Heather Findlay and Marillion’s Steve Hogarth (above)

Although the event was laregly a meet-and-greet, John Mitchell did play a short acoustic set accompanied by Liam Holmes on piano, and joined by two of the guest singers who’s appeared on the album. Here’s John and Heather duetting on “Why Do We Stay”, one of the album’s highlights.

Touchstone’s Kim Seviour was the other guest on stage, for the song “Oublette”. The album, perhaps the first essential progressive rock album of 2015, was released on the day of the event, and you can read my review here.
