Indeed. You could argue it was a contributing factor.

I liken these stories to jokes about the Daily Mail attempting to divide everything in the world into the two categories of either “causes” or “cures” cancer. The fact that there may, in fact, be some kind of middle ground seems to escape many people. But then, false dichotomies have always been a firm favourite with humanity.
