Hidden away in one of the announcements was the fact that, surprise surprise, the land and buildings will be sold off - another bit of prime real estate for redevelopment, the deal was probably struck months ago and this announcement is slipped out in the middle of January when the least possible number of people would be aware of it. I bet the champagne corks were popping in the council chamber as they signed off on this, behind closed doors... Let's watch them move on to other targets - I bet their greedy eyes are already eyeing up the beautiful old train terminal, thinking of all the luxury apartments their developer friends could build on such a prime site. Where other people see irreplaceable heritage and a world class tourist attraction, they only see short term gain and a photo opportunity
