Where are they now?

Got to love this accidentally-hiliarious “Where are they now” feature on the NME’s indie darlings from ten years ago.  As for the first one, if being a software developer is really more creative and exciting than rock’n'roll, it does rather suggest your failed indie band were a bit rubbish.

Agreed Tim with your comment about software versus rock. Hilarious. It probably says a lot about me that I genuinely had never heard of any of those bands.

I know quite a few part-time musicians with day jobs in the software industry. IT freelancing complements being a musician quite well; it pays well but the hours can be flexible, meaning it can fit around gigging and recording commitments.

I’ve heard of one singer remote-working from the recording studio, do a half-day’s programming while the rest of the band were recording their parts.
