I remember my girl friends reaction to the come and get it album cover,check out the snakes mouth. How they got away with that, I have no idea,
At the time they got widely slated for their crass sexist lyrics (slide it in, spirit it out, would I lie to you , e.t.c.) don’t think Coverdale cared at all though and his attitude was summed up with the song,Wine women and song .
However, they were brilliant live in the late 70s and early 80s before he discovered hair metal

Fair point. I wasn’t aware of that slang usage back in the early 80s when I first heard the albums….

Well, if you choose to listen to the lyrics of songs by a band whose very name is slang for a gentleman’s equipment, then I think you shouldn’t expect anything else…
