  1. Kasabian!!? A band who have a sum total of one memorable song? Kinda figures.

    Yep. They’re the British Nickelback.

Considering how divided music fans are and the human tendency to congregate with like minded people, is it inevitable that general music magazines will evolve into specialist ones?

  4. Tim Hall says:

Still annoying when a genre-specific publication tries to pretend it isn’t, though.

On the other hand, it’s encouraging to see movement in the opposite direction too; The Guardian has broadened its coverage significantly of late, is giving rock, metal and even prog decent coverage.

Hey, I like Kasabian…they are probably the best live band I’ve seen this month.
(I do kind of wonder how much of their new album is really ‘live’. And really, best in the *world*? I don’t know who that would be but it’d be someone more people would like, and probably someone who’s been around a lot longer than them.)

There was a band I won’t name for whom it was said that the reason they only played for about an hour was because that was all that would fit on their laptop….
