all is not lost with mostly autumn - dave has set up a special xmas gig at the junction as he is as dissapointed as we are that we did not get the full set - but dave has now got mostly autumn and a brand new sound system! dec 11th, the junction cambridge, call 01353 749749 to reserve your tickets. ive got mine!!

it is a strange situation that i dont think we can get to the bottom of! 10mins were cut from jim and geoff's set to give afl and marillion more changeover time, the backstage crew was on a break (took 15mins just to get them all together and ready to do the next changeover!) and radio caroline were onsite with all the gear ready to go at the drop of a hat - as it was afl's set which they were broadcasting, was started early.

dave (cambridge rock festival organiser) only got secondhand information from other people and never witnessed who it was told them to come offstage, the band themselves want to play it down and do not want to pin it onto anyone. the whole thing could even be down to a small misunderstanding like someone said quarter to when the meant quarter past.

dave has spent the whole year getting ready for the festival and has put the mostly autumn situation right with setting up this gig just for us to enjoy! after such a great 4 days and a to handle the mostly autumn situation the way he has (most other organisers wouldnt go out of their way to do anything like this) i think he deserves some praise!

thanks for another amazing festival, we're really looking forwards to a great night dec 11th and cant wait to see you there!

Yeah, we have concerts in barns here, too, some even purpose-built that way (where's the point in that, I ask you?): http://www.cmatb.org/

(Coincidentally located in the same suburb as the ark church which, sadly, doesn't seem to have a single picture online. Might rectify that tomorrow, since the kiddo is going horseback riding out that way tomorrow so I'll have the camera in hand.)

Hi yes agree with most of that shame about the short set but for various reasons its been 2 years since ive seen my favourite band MA so anything was better than nothing and as you said it was a great set.
It reminded me of the exhibition centre in Leamington Spa, which is a former farm, and the exhibition centre *is* a former cowshed. I think the Godmanchester indoor arena may well have once been a cowshed too.

I first parsed that one bit as "turned out to be a large cow-shaped building" which made me go "Whoa, I thought that was a purely American thing." I guess it probably still is.

Not, mind you, that we have any around here... I can't think of any really odd-shaped buildings in Wichita, other than that one church that's shaped like an ark. Which, given the vagaries of *Kansas* summers, is not as odd as it could be.

(Hmm. The only cow-shaped building I could turn up was in Canada. Color me surprised.)
