I’m guessing he played “The Girl with the Yellow Dress” on Later, since that’s the one Jools Holland played on. It’s the weakest song on the album.

I was unsure about purchasing this. I read your review and thought it sounded good but then I was put off by what I saw on the Jools Holland show last week – I was not overly impressed. Anyway, I decided to take the plunge and have just listened to it for the first time. My first impression is it’s better than I expected and very much in the vein of “On An Island”. Indeed your last paragraph captures exactly what I thought of “On An Island” when I heard it all those years ago. It’s the music of a man at peace with himself.
