Ahh, cool. I guessed you’d need some kind of accreditation or magazine/press endorsement to get a spot. Like you , I’ve always taken shots from the front of the audience with my SLR (think we were stood side by side at CRF this year), but there seem to be a lot of venues/bands/promoters won’t allow you to take them in.

I've used a 75-300mm lens at a festival, largely because my standard zoom didn't have the reach when shooting from further back. Does mean you can take close-ups like this.

Golly, I thought lenses like that were for wildlife photography as in small birds at long range. If MA gigs are in small venues, what are people wanting to see?
