Steve Hackett? Progressive? May have been 30 years ago, but today? We need a new generation of heroes pumping out brilliant relevant music which progresses. Much as I admire Mr H, that is not him. Much as I loved The Wall recently, that is not new… surely the best gig is the one which speaks to 21st century people… is this where a certain Mr S Wilson steps in? or someone else?

SF used to suffer that sort of snobbery, but The Guardian’s coverage of the genre is actually very good.

This reminds me of the way major newspapers or magazines have someone hostile to SF or fantasy write some up-the-nostril snarkery about a current fan favorite, as if to say “eh, it an’t all that.”
