Hmm, I think I agree with the first commenter there. I didn’t really like Led Zeppelin the first time I heard any of their stuff and by radio play through number 999 I was really tired of them.
I guess if you compare them to the other stuff that was getting airplay when they first came out, I could see people liking them in a relative way. And I’m sure it’s the case that lots of bands/performers who I do like have been heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin. (e.g. Dread Zeppelin would probably be pretty different.)
I actually liked a Robert Plant + someone else I don’t recall song from a few years ago better than most LZ.

Different in the UK, because you never hear Led Zep on the radio. Most of the general public in Britain have never heard many classic rock standards.

When Pink Floyd reunited for Live 8, a significant proportion of the audience were hearing “Wish You Were Here”, “Money” and “Comfortably Numb” for the first time.

It’s not so much no time at all, as the fact that by the time you turn 18 (in this country anyway), you’ve had Led Zep played on the radio to such an extent that the idea of *voluntarily* listening to it after that point becomes a chore.
