Looks like the story has a happy ending – The album has a release date for June this year. How big a part the internet fan campaign played is something we might never know.

A digital-only release is a possibility, but the most likely outcome is the fan campaign will eventually shame WMG into releasing the album. They might only do a half-arsed job of promoting or distributing it, and I would guess Delain will eventually end up on another label whatever happens.

I hate it, but I wonder why they cannot release the album through iTunes. For this album alone I would get me an apple ID. I wish they would either release the album, or cut Delain loose. I bet there are other record companies who would love to have delain and release their album.

Thanks for the mention – just to emphasise I know as much about the situation as the next fan, i.e. nothing at all, but I can’t see any logical reason for sitting on the album unless they want the band or indeed Charlotte to take a different direction.
At least the band know we want this record!
