I'm not the only person that doesn't like those lyrics, then :)

Regarding the two disks, I get the impression Disk1 is songs more likely to appeal to 'mainstream' audiences, whereas those on Disk2 are more aimed at existing fans. May be wrong, of course, but that might be the way Bryan's thinking here.

Hi Tim
Excellent review! "War is over" - thought I was listening to dear old Roger. I cannot understand however why the first album is the one to be released, there is some excellent material on disc 2! I must confess to making a copy of 1 without "something better", the "lyrics" are simply dreadful, I just can't cope with it to be honest - such a shame.

Yep, sadly there are a few sycophants out there who will read a review which is 99% positive and jump on the one line of criticism. But I have to be honest with myself when reviewing. Sadly there are also people out there with the knives out for the band who will immediately jump on that lyric.

As for Glass Shadows, I still think that's a decent album. The songs are good, even if there's a lack of fire in the performance in one or two places - Makes me wish they'd played more of it live; look how powerful "Unoriginal Sin" is on Live 2009 compared with the studio version.

a well written review tim. i havnt got the album so i cant judge either way. but i do agree with you about the last two albums. a bit patchy in places, with some real highs and a few lows. but thats what makes this band so interesting. allways willing to challenge themselves and try different ideas, some work for some people but not others.
looking forwrd to hearing the new album when santa arrives. i,m expecting him around the 24th/25th december depending on his schedule
