To me Ritchie Blackmore is the best, so to have a poll without him at least being on it is a farce! I agree with Xy0n on Metallica, but not AC/DC, and Kurt Cobain stinks!

You are all wrong! Robb W.A de Bretan is the greatest guitar player of all time. He is an awesome composer, arranger, and a fine virtuoso. An all around great musician.

Wow has anyone hered of Dream Theater? or Liquid tension experiment… If you actually listen to the music John Petrucci is the greatest guitar player of all time in my opinion.none of this jimi hendrix bull, and clapton garbage,overrated garb.

I’d have to agree with that one; Richie Blackmore is a notable omission from the list.

It’s questionable what Kurt Cobain is doing there. As a songwriter, maybe. As an icon for angst-ridden suburban losers, maybe. But as a guitarist?

Are we forgetting Bonnie Rait, Memphis Minne and a host of female blues guitarists? And as for women singing “perky pop ditties” please listen to Koko Taylor’s “I Can Love You Like A Woman (Or Fight You Like A Man)” or anything by Suzi DeMarchi (Baby Animals) or Melissa Etheridge. I think the only reason that we don’t have many hi preistess of guitar is that not many guys will play second fiddle ot a girl. Tame the egos guys and have a look at some great chick players.
