I’ve never had a problem with James LaBrie as a vocalist, though. Sometimes I’ve found them getting the balance wrong the other way, with too much instrumental stuff.

I’ve heard little bits of Dream Theater over the years, and have thought I could quite like them if they were an instrumentals band (like Liquid Tension Experiment), but then the vocals begin and I switch off!
