Caligula's Horse - Bloom, based on your end of year review.
This is pretty damn close to being Album of the year for me (pushed by Gazpacho - Molok and Mark Tremont - Cauterize).

Now about to indulge in Lonely Robot - purely because you have mentioned it a few times on Twitter.

I almost forgot, I bought Steve Rothery's The Ghosts of Pripyat after you panned Pink Floyd's last outing. The money I was considering spending on 'warmed up leftovers' I decided to use to take a punt on Rothery instead. Was not disappointed. Truly excellent album.

Oh and Lonely Robot. It's all coming back to me now :)

I don't get much in the way of personal recommendations as there are only three people who are really into music in my social group and there isn't a great deal of cross-over between us.

Last album I bought was pre-purchasing Mantra-Vega - although I heard the demos on this blog. I can't remember exactly the last album I bought on a recommendation that I hadn't heard prior, but I did buy Skin by Panic Room after your description made it sound right up my street. Loved it, so I bought all their other records. I also bought Mostly Autumn's Dressed in Voices, but I'd heard some of their other material on Youtube already after reading about them here. I think I got Haken's The Mountain without hearing any of their stuff.
