I just know the blog is here and check back every so often. I’m not particularly bothered about the music stuff but sometimes it’s interesting to read. If you partition it off then I would probably miss things that I might otherwise have read. Mainly I read the blog because you seem to be the only person who comments on Stabcon!

Tim I enjoy reading erudite and passionate views of stuff. I have pals who have ( for example) abiding passions for restoring WW2 trucks, cakemaking, breeding butterflies and writing fantasy romance books ( sort of mills and boon meets David Gemmell) none of which are MY passions but I love to dip a toe into their world.

Same with your blog: it would not be nearly as interesting if it were just a catalogue of efficiently sorted stuff IMO.

As someone who does read about the games, trains and software, but not a lot of the Prog Rock I thought I ought to post just so that the other parts can be seen to have a readership.

However, I do not see any need to restrcture the site. I can find the bits I want to read and avoid the bits I don’t.

Mind you, your proposal to have a static entry page would probably work just as well for me.

I enjoy reading the CD and gig reviews. Including those for bands who I don’t particularly follow, and those that are new names to me. I also look at the photo galleries and read the opinions and rants. The topics that I don’t read are software, games and trains. The site is well laid out and easy to navigate around.

I tend to pop in intermittently and read a handful of articles together. There are some topics I’m not interested in but I often read those articles anyway, because you’re a good writer.

I’m on RSS and like most of the articles. I may have skimmed a few train ones or some of the concert reviews if there were a lot close together.

I use an RSS feed. I don’t think you need to worry about segmenting your blog. When you post things I am not interested in (train stuff) I just skim or skip it.
